Small classes, familiar faces, and a school that believes learning shouldn't feel like a race. From Baby Class to Grade 7 in Baldwin View, Kitwe.
A calm, safe space for children and staff alike. Peace is something we build consciously, every single day.
Deep, honest learning. We ask why, not just what. Questions get celebrated just as much as answers here.
Character before authority. Initiative, integrity, and the kind of responsibility that doesn't go away.
Shalva Academy started with a simple idea: children learn better when they feel safe and when the adults around them actually know them.
We opened in January 2025 in Baldwin View, Zamtan. The goal was never just grades. It was to raise grounded, confident kids who are ready for whatever comes next.
We follow the Zambia MoE curriculum from Grade 1 through 7, with an Early Childhood programme rooted in play and discovery, enriched with computer science, fine arts, languages, and a daily culture of mindfulness.
Read Our StoryWe teach the full Zambia MoE curriculum across all grades. But we don't stop there. The subjects below are what make a Shalva education different from simply ticking boxes.
From early grades, students work hands-on with technology. Not just using it, but understanding how it actually works. Digital literacy and programming run through every school year.
Drawing, painting, crafts. Art gets to parts of a child that nothing else really does. Focus, patience, self-expression, the nerve to make something from nothing.
History, languages, and the big ideas that shape how people think. Not extras. These are what turn a child who knows facts into someone who actually understands the world.
Questions, experiments, and the satisfaction of figuring something out. We want kids who tackle problems with curiosity and without fear of being wrong.
Problem-solving, not just computation. The kind of logical thinking that helps when things get difficult, in school and well beyond it.
English is our main medium of instruction. We layer in other languages too, because communication opens doors and the earlier you build that skill, the better.
Clubs, sport, and performance aren't a break from learning. For a lot of kids, it's where the most important learning actually happens.
Every student has PE twice a week. We run inter-class competitions each term and compete in Kitwe zone sports days. Sport isn't optional here. It's part of the package.
Drama, music, and performance run through the whole year. Not switched on just before the concert. The kid who lights up a stage matters just as much as the one at the top of the class.
Computer Club, Art Club, Science Club, Debate, Reading and Writing Club. Every one has a staff lead and proper outcomes. Students also put together their own publications.
We take families from Baby Class through Grade 7. Spaces fill up, so don't leave it too long. We'd love to show you around.
